We are pleased to offer this EXTREMELY RARE FISH PLATE by Blanchère Henry de la. Paris, Delagrave, 1868. This superb chromolithograph plate has been finely hand finished by Mesnel. This is part of a collection that made its plate after a photograph rather than a watercolor. Text is French and Latin we have tried to give English name if possible. No text about fish included.Has above water line back ground.
The plate measures approximately 6.5 inches wide by 10.25 inches long. The scan doesn’t even do justice to the beauty of this plate. Condition of plate is as follows Great light foxing on edges would not be seen if matted.The words “Bill’s Fine Prints” is a electronic watermark and is not on the original plate.
