This wonderful vintage botanical prints from the First Edition of "Farm Weeds of Canada", by George H. Clark, B.S.A., and James Fletcher, LL.D., F.R.S.C., F.L.S., with Farm Weeds illustrations by Norman Criddle. Canada Government Publication, Department of Agriculture Canada, Branch of the Seed Commissioner. Published by Direction of The Hon. Syndey A. Fisher, Department of Agriculture, Ottawa, 1906.
Each of the farm weeds prints are original not reproductions and measures approximately 11 1/2" x 8 1/2".
Fine stone chromolithograph plates of watercolors by the renowned prairie botanical taxonomist and illustrator, Norman Criddle. This is Canada's authentic contribution to the art of the English fine-illustrated garden prints and all the more interesting for the fact of having been produced and for and under the Department of Agriculture of the Laurier Cabinet.

Each plate includes an accompanying page or photocopy page that states the English Name, Latin Names, along with Introduced or Native, Annual or Perennial, Time of Flowering, Propagation, Injury and Remedy. Just about any information you want to know about farm weeds or any of these beautiful botanical prints.
Norman Criddle was a Naturalist and Artist born in Addlestone Surrey England in 1875. Came to Canada and settled in Brandon Manitoba. Norman was influenced by his father due to his love of nature and art.
In 1905 he published his first book called Prairie Weeds, the botanical prints offer here are from 1906 called Farm Weeds of Canada.
Norman Criddle died in 1933.
